There are many civil architecture examples such as mosques, inns, baths, fountains, synagogues, synagogues, covered bazaars, etc. bearing the traces of Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman periods. The city, which smells of history, is an open-air museum like many districts of Izmir and is one of the richest districts of Izmir in terms of culture.
