The small and lovely square of Largo dei Librari and the little Baroque style church of Santa Barbara dei Librai (Saint Barbara), located near Campo de Fiori, in the historic heart of the Eternal City. Perhaps built since Roman times by a noblewoman of Christian faith above the ruins of the Theater of Pompey, this delightful little church was officially founded in 1306. The statue on the facade, above, depicting Saint Barbara, is the work of the Baroque artist Ambrogio Parisi. The Campo de Fiori area is much loved and visited by tourists and residents for the presence of ancient churches and noble palaces and for the countless artistic and cultural treasures in Renaissance and Baroque style. Around Campo de Fiori, in the ancient Parione and Regola districts, it is possible to explore dozens of characteristic alleys, where you can discover the essence and soul of Roman life. In 1980 the historic center of Rome was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Super wide angle image in high definition format.

Rome will never take its visitor for a simple-minded person. Nothing that is most important is offered to us. Walking through its ruins, but also in the city that will supplant it in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, is to find yourself constantly challenged, to represent yourself but also to imagine the past. When we walk in this city, we only move in a dream, we find ourselves in creation, always ready to see beautiful temples arise in our minds and the strong columns of basilicas rise. You also have to be on the lookout for the smallest details, the smallest fountains to spot the clues of past grandeur that Rome has never ceased to reveal to attentive passers-by. Because these few old stones lost among many more recent ones are only clues that Rome has transmitted to us, as if to remind us that here, once upon a time, stood the most beautiful city in the world.
A quiet and picturesque little square in the ancient Trastevere district, in the historic heart of Rome. On the right the church of San Giovanni della Malva, built in 1851 on the site of an ancient medieval church of 1123 which was later demolished. This church is the seat of the Albanian Catholic community residing in Rome. Trastevere is an iconic district of the Eternal City, due to the presence of countless artistic and historical treasures, monuments and ancient Romanesque and Baroque churches, but also for its squares and alleys to be explored freely, where it is easy to find typical restaurants, pubs, small shops of artisans and scenes of daily life with the original Roman soul. In 1980 the historic center of Rome was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Super wide angle and 16:9 image in high definition format.
