During the Roman period, M.S. It was seen that Christianity spread rapidly in the region in the 2nd century, and there was a great struggle between the idolaters and the Christians. Many underground cities in the Cappadocia region, which belong to the 3rd and 4th centuries, were built by Christians for protection, shelter and worship. Mucur Underground City is in Kırşehir province. The underground city carved into soft rocks is 7-8 m deep from the ground. In the underground city with many rooms, the corridors are wide enough to pass from one place to another and people can only move forward by bending, the barns, places of worship, dividing the corridors, and the capstones, which are large volumes and circular shaped stone masses that are estimated to be built to close the rooms. and there are ventilation shafts opening above ground.

Between the towns of Calles and Chelva, in the interior of Valencia, we can explore the remains of an impressive Roman aqueduct: the Peña Cortada Aqueduct.\n\nIn the s. I A.D., the Romans built this aqueduct by carving much of it directly into the mountain rock. It was made to channel the water from the azud of the Tuéjar River. Although so far it has not been known for sure where the water was channelled, a recent study states that the aqueduct brought the water to the centre of the city of Valencia.\n\nTherefore, this aqueduct would be 98.6 km long and would be the largest aqueduct in ancient Hispania. Currently, different parts of the aqueduct are preserved along a total of 28 km, and it is possible to walk inside. The landscape left by this impressive construction is surprising, with that 'Cut Rock' from which the Romans extracted rock, as well as the bridge that stands 33 metres so that the aqueduct could cross the ravine.
