Vientiane, Laos: That Dam, the Black Stupa, built in the 16th century once golden, it is now actually the color of its exposed bricks - it remains derelict, as there are property issues regarding the land it stands on - it is told that during the Siamese-Laotian war in the late-1820s, the gold cover was pillaged and taken to Siam, now Thailand leaving the structure naked - roundabout between Chantha Khoumane road and Bartholonie road.
