View from the sand dunes looking inland across the marshes towards the village of Walberswick on the Suffolk coast. A popular holiday destination, the charming village is just a short walk from the beach. Captured on a July morning, the marshes are looking lush and green, and the marram grass is in full flower, showing dense spikes. Walberswick falls within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
The lighthouse at Old Hunstanton, Norfolk, seen through the ruins of St Edmund’s Chapel on the cliffs. The lighthouse was built around 1840, on the site of a much older lighthouse structure which contained the world’s first parabolic reflector. The present building stopped operating as a lighthouse in 1921 and is currently used as holiday accommodation. St Edmund’s Chapel dates back to 1272.
