Paramaribo, Suriname: High Court of Justice of Suriname - the Court of Justice is a late 18th century colonial building made of brick, the architecture is based on the classicist style. The building is five bays wide and three deep. There is a stone staircase at both the front and the rear that leads to the first floor. The facades are symmetrically arranged, with the front facade accentuated by using corner pilasters and a center riser for the main entrance. The building also has an attic and a slate-covered mansard roof. Part of Historic Inner City of Paramaribo Unesco World heritage site.
Fences surround the McLean House at Appomattox Courthouse National Military Park in Virginia. The red brick McLean House was the site of the famous meeting between Generals Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant on April 9, 1865. At this meeting, Lee surrendered the Army of Northern Virginia to Union troops and effectively ended the Civil War.
