Flowers pale gray-green, finally spotted, with purple spots and streaks, borne in a long spike, many flowered, rather foul-smelling; sepals and petals forming a small hood, the lip very long, often spiraling, 30-50mm, with 2 short arms near the top and a long central, tall-like central lobe notched at the tip; spur present, 7-12mm long, downward pointing.\nHabitat: Grassland, scrub and open woods or woodland margins, road-verges or sand dunes, generally at low attitudes, but up to 1800m in the South of its Range.\nFlowering Season: June-July.\nDistribution: SE Britain, Belgium, Netherlands, France and Germany.\n\nThis Picture is made during a long weekend in the South of Belgium in June 2006.
