Deutzia scabra, commonly called fuzzy deutzia, is an upright, somewhat coarse, deciduous shrub that typically grows 6-10’ tall with spreading to arching branches that form a rounded crown. It is native to Japan. Mature branching is clad with exfoliating brown bark. Zodia flowers are native to Papua, endemic to Indonesia. Zodia is a herbaceous plant from the Rutaceae family, Magnoliopsida class, and Sapindales order. This plant is believed to repel mosquitoes, especially the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, which carries dengue fever. Plant height ranges from 50 cm to 200 cm. The morphology of Zodia leaves has an elongated flat shape, yellowish green color, slightly flexible. When this plant is shaken, it releases aromatherapy which causes insects and mosquitoes to run away.
