Females may become\nlightly pruinose.\nBehaviour: Mating occurs either on floating plants or at the margins. When perched on floating vegetation, males hold their abdomen slightly upcurved (usually straight in Large Redeye).\nEggs are laid, while in tandem, into floating plants.\nBreeding habitat: Frequents a range of standing and sometimes slow-flowing waters with floating mats of pondweed, particularly hornworts (Ceratophyllum spp.) or water-milfoils (Myriophyllum spp.); sometimes on lily-pads with Large Redeye. Tolerates brackish conditions.\nFlight Season: From May to September in the South, but mainly in July and August in the North.\nOccurrence: Central Europe (incl. Mediterranean). Expending Northwards and South-East England.\n\nThis is a common Species in the Netherlands on the described Habitats.$
