(Senecio integerrimus var, exaltatus) Western Groundsel is also known as Western Senecio.  This perennial wildflower is found in the alpine zone of Mount Rainier National Park.  This plant has woolly leaves which are oblanceolate in shape.  There are many heads with clusters of yellow flowers on a strap -like organ called a ligule.  The secondary bracts are black tipped.
