Genova is a city in and the capital of the Italian region of Liguria, and the sixth-largest city in Italy. In 2023, 558,745 people lived within the city's administrative limits. One of the most beautiful churches in the town of Monterosso is the Church of San Giovanni Battista of Riomaggiore, dating back to the 14th century. The facade is in Genovese Gothic style, decorated with dark serpentine alternated with white marble slates. At the top centre is a  large ornate rose window.
