Very robust biennial to 5m; stems ridged, red spotted, up to 10cm in diameter. leaves often very large, pinnately-divided, with broad, toothed and lobed divisions. Flowers white, 8-20mm, in very large umbels up to 50cm across, with 50-150 rays, the petals of the outer flowers very unequal. Fruit oval-elliptical, 9-11mm, broadly winged, hairless or hairy.\nHabitat: Grassy and waste places and stream margins.\nFlowering Season: June-August.\nDistribution: Indigenous in Caucasus and SW Asia. Originally introduced as a garden plant, but now naturalized in much of Europe and still spreading.\n\nThis Plant is now a Pest in the Netherlands and is fight against.
