The chaffinch is a very common, sparrow-sized finch of gardens, woodland, parks and farmland. Chaffinches build neat, bowl-shaped nests in trees and shrubs. They feed on seeds and insects and will happily visit birdtables, but do not feed openly on feeders, preferring to hop about on the ground and under hedges.The female being a lot drabber in colour than the brighter looking male.

The Golden-Mantled Ground Squirrel (Callospermophilus lateralis) is a type of squirrel found in the mountainous areas of western North America. Because of its stripes and cheek pouches the Golden-Mantled Ground Squirrel is often thought of as a chipmunk. It is considerably larger than the chipmunk and lacks facial stripes. This squirrel was photographed on Mount Fremont in Mount Rainier National Park, Washington State, USA.
The killdeer primarily feeds on insects, although other invertebrates and seeds are eaten. It forages almost exclusively in fields, especially those with short vegetation and with cattle and standing water.
