An Atelopus seminiferus nominal toad is seen on a moss log. This endangered toad (IUCN 3.1) can only be found in the Amazon Rainforest of Peru. This small toad is dark black on top and bright red in the belly. In this photo you can see a female adult toad.

Mount Roraima (Spanish: Monte Roraima; Tepuy Roraima; Cerro Roraima; Portuguese: Monte Roraima) is the highest of the Pacaraima chain of tepuis (table-top mountain) or plateaux in South America. It is located at the junction of Brazil, Guyana and Venezuela. Venezuela owns 80% of the Mountain territory, Guiana has 15%, and Brazil only has 5%.

An endangered Atelopus Seminiferus toad is seen on a branch. This toad is endemic to Peru. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forests and rivers. This toad is rarely seen in the wild. The toad has a ? design on the side of its back. The colors on the toad range from black to white, yellow and blue. This toad is only 5 cm long.

The brown-backed frog (Odorrana swinhoana), also known as Swinhoana's red frog, is an amphibian of the family Odorrana. It is widely distributed in hilly areas below 2,000 m (6,600 ft).

On top of Auyan Tepui there are several rain showers every day, leaving the plateau of the table mountain wet and slippery and wash the soil away.
