The gritty black and white image is of an F4U-1A Corsair. The Corsair is one of the most iconic fighters of WWII.  With its bent 'gull' wing to accommodate its 13 foot propeller, the aircraft was very recognizable.  This particular aircraft, built in mid-1943, is one of the oldest F4Us still flying.  This specific aircraft saw combat service in the Pacific Theater, in part, with the famed VMF-214 \

this is a black and white picture of a private luxury Jet at a airport. the jet or plane has it's landing gear and the jet is waiting to be boarded by passengers. the photo shows the jet's or plane's wing, pilot's cabin. in the background of the photo there are airplane hangers that house these private jets and commercial jets and planes.
The airplane shown is a Stearman PT-17 biplane which was used by the US Army and US Navy to train pilots leading up to, and during, WWII.  The airplane was used in basic, or primary, training of new pilots.  The photo shows the full airplane from the right front quarter view.  One can see the silhouette of the pilot's head in the cockpit.  The engine is not running.  The markings on the lower wing can be seen and show US Army.  The photo is a classic sepia tone and evokes a clear feeling of history and nostalgia.
