Anteros represents the most mature love, since this statue was erected to commemorate the Earl of Shaftesbury, a politician, philanthropist and social reformer, who during his inauguration was much criticized for not looking like a respectable symbolism for this Count.\nBuilt by Sir Alfred Gilbert between 1885 and 1893. During World War II, in 1939, it was removed for safety, and did not return to its place until 1948.$

The Guards Crimean War Memorial in Waterloo Place, St James's, Central London, which commemorates the Allied forces victory and those who died in the Crimean War of 1853-1856. It was erected in 1861.
