Yoruba warrior displays his magical power during the Olojo festival at Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria.\n\nThe Olojo festival commemorates the descent of Oduduwa to Ile-Ife, the celebration of the first dawn, the first afternoon, and the first night of creation. That makes the Olojo festival, one of the oldest in Africa, celebrated all over Yorubaland. It celebrates the dawn of the first day of existence on Earth. There is a parallel between this and the Judeo-Christian theology of creation, conceived with the divine proclamation: “Let there be light.”
