Clathrus archeri (synonyms Lysurus archeri, Anthurus archeri, Pseudocolus archeri), commonly known as octopus stinkhorn, or devil's fingers, is a fungus which has a global distribution.

This is a Rheum species growing in the alpine scree, rhododendron scrubs, and rocky outcrops between 3000-4000 m above sea level. It is sighted at 3900 masl at Zorsumla under Jigme Khesar Strict Nature Reserve, Haa Bhutan.
Xylaria polymorpha, commonly known as dead man's fingers, is a saprobic fungus. It is a common inhabitant of forest and woodland areas, usually growing from the bases of rotting or injured tree stumps and decaying wood.
