Camellia japonica, commonly called Japanese camellia, is an evergreen shrub that typically grows to 2-4m tall with glossy, dark green leaves. It is native to Japan and China. Species plants have single flowers, but there are also cultivars with semi-double or double flowers. Each single flower has 5-8 petals. Flower colors are most commonly white, pink or red with yellow anthers.

Begonia is a genus of perennial flowering plants in the family Begoniaceae. The genus contains more than 2,000 different plant species. The Begonias are native to moist subtropical and tropical climates. Some species are commonly grown indoors as ornamental houseplants in cooler climates.

One single beautiful pink flower in an early morning light. I created this image in a rose garden in Boise, Idaho. I was specially attracted by the layered petals creating a very nice circular pattern.

Aquilegia or Columbine is perennial wildflower, which is native to most temperate areas of the world. It tends to cross-pollinate, hybridize, and self-seed freely, creating new strains and colors. Columbine flowers come in many different colors, including red, pink, white, yellow, blue and purple. They bloom in late spring to early summer and self-seed readily if not deadheaded.
